Google Project Zero to Tackle Security Threats 'Across the Internet'

Google, in an attempt to make the Internet safer for all and hunt down widely-affecting vulnerabilities like Heartbleed, has announced a new cyber-security team called Project Zero that will comprise cyber-security researchers. Project Zero will be focusing more on the zero-day vulnerabilities or zero-day attack, which are threats that take advantage of a previously unknown susceptibility in an app or Web service that has not been addressed or patched by developers.
